Team Work

Katy ran her first 5K since Teddy showed up on Friday Night.  It was a pretty great 5K race called the LaGrange Rocks 5K which Karin C helped organize.  During her race she got a high five from Karen P and with about a 1/2 mile to go Deanna, who was spectating in flip flops and a backpack saw her and said something along the lines of "I'll run you in".

We are a team in and out of the water and I think that is one of the coolest things about being a part of Lyons Masters!

Team Update

Jason is currently at USMS Nationals in Mesa, AZ.  He completed his first day of competition yesterday and did great.  He is swimming 2 events a day for 3 days.  On Day 1 he swam the 50 fly and the 200 back.  He got a best time in his 50 fly (26.8) which is GREAT!  His 200 back went well (2:19) but as he told me after the race, "as for the 200 back, It's dead to me!"  I think he is done swimming that event!  I'll keep you posted as I hear more, but it sounds like an incredible facility they are swimming at.

While Jason is having a great time in Mesa, AZ some other exciting things are happening right here in our own pool! This morning, Marlene for the first time ever in practice, swam 2000 yards! She finished swimming today about 125 yards short of that and her lane mate, Dan got her back in the water to complete 2000 yards.

This is a great example of how we can all help each other achieve great things when we work together.   It's SO GREAT to be part of a team!

Nice job guys!

See you in the pool,
Coach Steve
